Phil Kelly, writer of the brand new Codex: Orks will be instore 12pm-2pm on Saturday 12th January to sign and talk about his latest piece of work!
Phil has worked on many different projects whilst working in the Games Workshop studio and its fair to say he is probably working on a few top secret things now but Orks will be the subject of conversation on this day...well mostly!
Phil was born in Essex, in the south of England but chose to move to the greener country by taking a Degree in Fine Art at Nottingham University, something that appears to be a trademark for many of the Studio staff.
Before coming to Games Workshop in December of 1999, Phil worked for 6 months as a sign writer for an off-license chain called “Bottoms Up!” but moved on when the dream of free beer failed to appear. His first job was working on White Dwarf, initially as a Graphic Designer and then as a Features Editor. Eventually, he took up a position in Games Development in June 2001.
Projects that Phil has worked on have included the Tyranids, Necrons, Eldar and Daemonhunters Codexes, the Eye of Terror campaign, and Warhammer Armies: Bretonnians.
He collects and fights with Eldar, Skaven, Tyranids, Daemonhunters, and Tomb Kings armies, plus has a marvelous “Lost Valley of the Carnosaurs” army too. His Tyranid army is the standout collection though – as you will doubtless have seen featured in White Dwarf.
